For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee. O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colors and lay thy foundations with sapphires. And I will make thy windows of agates and thy gates of carbuncles and all thy borders of pleasant stones. And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of thy children’. • Isaiah 54:10-13 (KJV)

God is saying here that we must persevere with Him in our affliction. The promises mentioned in these verses are phenomenal, supernatural promises and they are for this generation. Where there is darkness there is light. In time of great sin there is mercy because of the blood.

Isaiah 54:14 (ESV) says, ‘In righteousness you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you’.

The person God speaks about in the above verse is someone that has not allowed the limitations, the labels and the intimidations he has been subjected to undermine the promises of God. We can compare it to the woman with the issue of blood in the Bible. She was in a distressing situation but she was not going to let this determine the outcome of her relationship with God. She was determined to enlarge her territory. She was going to let the Lion of Judah roar for her so that she could claim His promises. God said in this passage that he will be establishing us. Do you know what is going to happen when God starts to establish you? The devil will taunt you by discouraging you and by speaking negativity into your life. However, you must stand firm and assert that you are standing under the blood and that mercy has been granted to you. You are enlarging your territory and you are expanding by doing this.

When this happens you will know that something good is about to emerge. You will also find that when you take a stand people begin to gather together to stir up strife against you. Many times in my life people have gathered together and stirred up strife against me. The devil stirs up because he is the father of lies and accusations and he twists your words and actions. People speak to each other about others. This information is passed onto somebody else who in turn speaks to someone else. Eventually the story is so distorted that the original can no longer be discerned causing much damage.

The moment God starts to break through for you the devil starts to bring to mind your failures and your past, discouraging you and telling you that you might as well retreat. If the devil cannot accuse you through people he will accuse you in your own thoughts. However, we are justified by the blood of Jesus. We are made righteous and we are forgiven. God wants us to enter into a Promised Land and we will enter into that Promised Land by His mercy and grace.
